When we first started adding a nature study time to our schedule I was a little overwhelmed at how I would do that. I was so thankful for the NaturExplorers curriculum! I downloaded the study guide, requested some books from the library, and scheduled activities into our homeschool schedule. They even include background information for mom! (A huge help since I'm learning this nature stuff right alongside my children!!)
NaturExplorers guides include living book suggestions to bring nature study to life, background information for the parent or teacher concerning the main focus of the nature topic, suggestions for adapting the material for younger and older children, as well as ideas for groups of children, and notebooking pages.
They also include an abundance of suggestions for creative nature walks, hands-on activity, writing and research ideas, and references for Bible study, artist study, composer study and poetry tie-ins.
Although the NaturExplorers guides were written with 1st-8th graders in mind, all of the activities in the curriculum are adaptable for all ages. Even high school students and adults will learn a lot and enjoy nature study.
The guides are extremely flexible, allowing you to choose how long you will spend on each area of study. There are more activities and suggestions listed than you can possibly complete so you could do a quick overview or spend an entire year on the area.
With over twenty books to choose from, you are sure to find an area of study that will interest your family.
